These images were created in reaction to the crypto-currency mania of the late 2010s.
While highly technical and abstract, the images are completely fictional depictions of 1 Bitcoin and 0.5 Bitcoin.
This juxtaposition of highly technical and complete fiction works as an apt proxy for the relationship between the algorithms and mathematical theory contained within the Blockchain technology on which crypto-currencies are built and the smoke-and-mirrors hype of the crypto world.
The works are realised on 80gsm paper, commonly used as tracing paper, to give a tangible sense of fragility and uncertainty which is intrinsic within the crypto world.
