The 2 pylons support high-tension power lines and they also alude to other tensions; ongoing climate change, the move to renewable energy sources and the presence of manmade structures in such organic natural surroundings.
These pylons are draped with power lines which once carried electricity generated from the burning of turf, or peat, at the Belacorrick Power Plant but today these same lines are connected to the Belacorrick Wind farm.
